Clear yellow to brownish colored solution. CLINICAL DATA Target species Cats Indications for use, specifying target species For the prevention and treatment of flea infestations in cats weighing less than 4 kg. For cats weighing 4 kg and above, use Advantage 80 for Cats. One treatment prevents further flea infestation for three to four weeks. The pipette can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the control of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD), when previously diagnosed by a veterinarian. Contraindications Do not treat unweaned pups less than 8 weeks of age. Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Adverse reactions (frequency and severity) The pipette has a bitter taste and occasionally, if the cat licks the application site immediately after treatment, salivation may occur. This effect is not a sign of intoxication and disappears after a few minutes without treatment. Very rarely, skin reactions such as hair loss, redness, itching and skin lesions may occur. Agitation has also been reported. Exceptionally, excessive salivation and nervous signs such as incoordination, tremor and depression have been reported in cats. Use during pregnancy or lactation No primary embryotoxic, teratogenic or reproductive function effects have been observed during studies with imidacloprid in rats and rabbits. Studies on pregnant and lactating cats and their litter are limited. However, so far there is no evidence to suggest that adverse effects should be expected in these animals. Interaction with other drugs and other forms of interaction No incompatibility has been observed between this pipette at twice the recommended dose and the following commonly used veterinary drugs: lufenuron, pyrantel and praziquantel. Also, the compatibility of the pipette with a wide range of routine treatments under field conditions including vaccination was demonstrated. Dosage and route of administration Reinfestations may continue to occur due to the appearance of new fleas in the environment for six weeks or more after treatment has been initiated. Consequently, more than one treatment may be necessary, depending on the number of fleas in the environment. As an aid, the additional use of a suitable treatment against adult fleas and their developmental stages in the animal's habitat is recommended. The pipette remains effective even if the animal gets wet, e.g. after exposure to heavy rain. However, retreatment may be necessary depending on the presence of fleas in the environment. In these cases do not apply more frequently than once a week. Method of administration 1) Remove one pipette from the case. Keep the pipette straight, turn the cap and remove it. Use the cap in the reverse direction to pierce the pipette with a twist. 2) Separate the hair from the cat's neck at the base of the skull until the skin is visible. Place the top of the pipette on the skin and firmly squeeze the pipette several times to deposit the entire contents. 3) The pipette has a bitter taste and occasionally, if the cat licks the application site immediately after treatment, salivation may occur. This effect is not a sign of intoxication and disappears after a few minutes without treatment. Application at the base of the skull will minimize the cat's opportunity to lick the pipette. Apply only on healthy skin. Do not allow newly treated animals to lick each other. Special storage precautions No special storage conditions are required. Keep away from food, beverages and animal feed. Commercial presentations Package size 4 ml of solution per pipette Blister containing 4 single-dose pipettes. Composition Imidacloprid 10% Moxidectin 2.5%.
